Mr. Bill Gates with the leadership of the HOPE Consortium partner organisations during his visit to AD Ports Group’s vaccine warehousing facility in KIZAD.

AD Ports Group, along with our HOPE Consortium partners, were pleased to recently host Mr. Bill Gates, Microsoft founder, philanthropist, and humanitarian, at our vaccine logistics hub in KIZAD, operated by our Logistics Cluster. During the visit, Mr. Gates was keen to learn more about our advanced vaccine warehousing facility, and how Abu Dhabi and the UAE are helping lead the global efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic.

While touring the facility, Mr. Gates was pleased to see how the HOPE Consortium successfully resolved some of the major challenges associated with vaccine distribution, including the safe storage of millions of vaccines, tracking their movement to guarantee effectiveness, and phased distribution to communities in need which ensures that each vaccine dose is absorbed safely.

Since its inception in late 2020, the HOPE Consortium, founded by the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi, AD Ports Group, Etihad Cargo, Maqta Gateway, Rafed and SkyCell, has successfully delivered over 250 million vaccine doses to over 60 countries and is at the forefront of Abu Dhabi’s efforts to serve humanity.
